Maintenance Checklists

At Service Champions we perform both Furnace and Air Conditioning Precision Tune-Ups and Professional Cleanings.

Furnace Precision Tune-up, Professional Cleaning, and Safety Inspection
18 Point Check-Up

Trained Service Champions technicians perform a 60-90 minute precision tune-up and professional cleaning, including the following 18 operations:
  1. Carbon Monoxide - test air flow duct system for carbon monoxide
  2. Thermostat – test for proper operation, calibrate, and level
  3. Inspect for combustible material around furnace
  4. Ignition System – test for safe and proper operation
  5. Exhaust System – test for proper venting
  6. Measure Supply/Return temperature differential
  7. Safety & Control Circuits – test for proper operation
  8. Inspect and adjust fan belt tension (if applicable)
  9. Clean existing air filter (as needed)
  10. Lubricate and clean blower motor air vents
  11. Furnace Burner – clean and inspect
  12. Heat Exchangers – clean and inspect
  13. Clean furnace exterior
  14. Visual inspection of heat exchangers for dangerous cracks and wear
  15. Gas Pressure – measure and adjust for peak efficiency
  16. Blower Motor – measure amperage and voltage for proper operation
  17. Electrical Wiring – inspect and tighten connections
  18. Natural Gas – check for leaks

Air Conditioning Precision Tune-Up, Professional Cleaning, and Safety Inspection
26 Point Check-Up

Trained Service Champions technicians will perfrom a 60-90 minute tune-up and professional cleaning including the following 26 operations:
  1. Blower Motor- measure amperage and voltage for proper operation
  2. Thermostat - test for proper operation, calibrate, and level
  3. Cleaning existing air filter (as needed)
  4. Bearing - inspect for wear and lubricate
  5. Inspect indoor coil if accessible
  6. Confirm proper return air and size
  7. Inspect Condenser Coil
  8. Refrigerate - monitor operating pressures
  9. Safety Devices - inspect for proper operation
  10. Electrical Disconnect Box - inspect for proper rating and safe installation
  11. Electrical Wiring - inspect and tighten connections
  12. Test/inspect contactors for burned, pitted contacts
  13. Inspect electrical for exposed wiring
  14. Inspect and test capacitors
  15. Insect fan blade
  16. Clean condenser coil and remove debris
  17. Inspect service valves for proper operation
  18. Measure Supply/Return temperature differential
  19. Inspect duct work for energy loss
  20. Compressor - monitor, measure amperage and volt draw and wiring connections
  21. Check Unit for Time Delay Relay
  22. Check Unit for Isolation Pads
  23. Inspect suction line for proper fittings
  24. Inspect all fittings for signs of oil and/or leakage
  25. Check lines and fittings with Freon leak detector
  26. Check the condition of Blower Belt, if applicable
